Saturday night DNS issues

Dear users,

Saturday night some of our DNS machines were unavailable due to an anycast issue. This affected the reachability of our service. We fixed the issue and our domains are up to date again.

A way to circumvent such a situation in the future is to set up alternative domains and make our service available through them. The alternative domains are ipredator.me and ipredator.es.

We recommend to adapt your OpenVPN configuration file to use these alternative domains in addition to ipredator.se. Should one domain be unreachable, OpenVPN tries to connect through the alternative ones.

In case you are using the OpenVPN command line, native or Tunnelblick client, edit the configuration file and make sure to use multiple remote lines:

remote pw.openvpn.ipredator.se 1194
remote pw.openvpn.ipredator.me 1194
remote pw.openvpn.ipredator.es 1194

If you are using Viscosity, open its Preferences, edit the IPredator connection and switch to the General tab. Enter multiple Remote Servers separated by commas in the appropriate text field, e.g. pw.openvpn.ipredator.se, pw.openvpn.ipredator.me, pw.openvpn.ipredator.es.

The configuration files linked in the Guides are updated and reflect the above mentioned changes:

AndroidIPredator-Android-Password.conf
CLIIPredator-CLI-Password.conf
iOSIPredator-iOS-Password.ovpn
Mac OS XIPredator-MacOSX-Password.ovpn
Ubuntu LinuxIPredator-Windows-Password.opvn
WindowsIPredator-Windows-Password.opvn
IPredator-Windows-Password-File.ovpn

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
